Renseignements supplémentaires pour identifier le lieu d’édition // Additional Information to Identify the Place of Publication

Dans la citation d’une monographie, le lieu d’édition doit être limité à la ville indiquée sur la page titre. Si le lieu d’édition ne peut être identifié sans renseignements supplémentaires (province, état ou pays), par exemple, dans le cas où plusieurs villes portent le même nom, ces renseignements doivent être abrégés et mis entre parenthèses après le nom de la ville.

When citing a book, the place of publication must only include the name of the city that appears on the title page. If additional information is required to identify the place of publication (province, state, or country)–for instance, in cases where the location could be confused with another–that information must be included, in abbreviated form, after the name of the city.
